The Switch UP with Vampires Anonymous!

Welcome back to the Switch up tour! Sorry we have been out...This crazy weather has everything on the fritz. So, today we are hanging out with Vampires Anonymous. Yes, this is going to be fun! Here we go..

AmBear: Let's start by letting everyone know what is Vampires Anonymous?
VA: Vampires Anonymous is a Facebook Like page where we share everything vampire related. It’s a place for everyone apart of the vampire culture to gather and feel at home. We love all of our fans and we try our best to post everything and anything that they might be interested in, as long as its vampire related of course. We post things from styles to jewelry to make-up and costumes, as well as beautiful art and pictures from movies. We even go the extra mile and post historic folklore/legends of vampires from all over the world and the history of them. We’re also getting into posting vampire themed books now which has been very very exciting.https://www.facebook.com/pages/Vampires-Anonymous/270523359726983?ref=hl

I love this page! If you haven't given it a like, please do so!

AmBear: How did you get started?
VA: August 5th 2012. Our page was created because the creator has a strange taste/obsession for blood and wanted to share it with the world. Our lovely Admin Marceline has been a doll; she’s the only real reason the page has gotten to where it is today. She’s the one who reviews all the important stuff on the page as well as the book reviews we get to post!
~.:Marceline: Awww<3 love you guys!

AmBear: Who is your favorite Vampire?
VA: In the Vampire world the person Vampires Anonymous swoons over is the vampire Lestat. Famously known from Ann Rice’s novels 1 famously known as “Interview with a Vampire” and from the movie, “Queen of the Damned”, Stuart Townsend plays him exceptionally well<3. There’s just something about a vampire rock star that just has gets to us!

One of my faves as well. Can we say, Tasty!

AmBear: What is the one thing about Vampires that makes you love them so much?
VA: This is a hard one for us here at Vampires Anonymous. We can’t just sum up 1 exact reason why we love vampires. Maybe it’s because of their mysteriousness, all that power in such a delicate form, or that longing look in their eyes, one searching for a companion to share eternity with. Who knows it could be their insatiable need to drink blood and their fangs that draw us to them. Still their beauty knows no bounds and it is distinctively the reason as to why so many people including us here at VA are drawn to them, however we would to have to say that it is their charming charismatic personalities that makes us love them so much.

~bloodsquirt~ “one does not simply name one reason for liking vampires, as there are a plethora of reasons within a single reason.”

AmBear: Do the lovelies at VA have a favorite author?
VA: Well our wonderful Admin, Marceline is always calling our fans her “lovelies” which makes them sound like either her food source or her children which can be a bit amusing at times. BUT! In all honesty it is hard to say who our fans favor, we post many things but we hardly get many likes on those posts, which makes us VERY sad at times. So even if our fans do have a favorite author we wouldn’t really know the answer.

It is hard to pick a favorite even for me, as there are so many great authors out there.

AmBear: What is the one thing about VA that makes it unique?
VA: We stick to our sources and we don’t go around asking people to share our page. People usually find us and we don’t really use provocative photos to boost the likes we get. We keep it simple, classy, and informative. We also make some of the things we post, like collages of certain vampire paraphernalia. We don’t just post about art or post pictures of just anything! We keep it all vampire related. Even though we do that, there are still TONS of things to post!

It is a great page!

AmBear: If you could be a Vampire for one day, what is the one thing you feed on?
VA: *Laughs* that is something we try to do every day. Many of our Administrators identify themselves as real vampires, but not like the ones you would normally see depicted in movies or in books. It is just simply how they live their lives. If we could be vampires for one day the number one thing we would feed off of would be blood. There’s just something about it, you know? Especially the way they show vampires drinking it in movies and TV shows today. It just makes your heart race!

Tasty!

AmBear: Let's say you could choose one book to make into a movie, what would it be?
VA: Well there are a lot of vampire books out there that we would LOVE to see be turned into movies, for example, “Dark Lover” by JR Ward. That would be an interesting movie if it were made. The fight scenes and the vampire world that exist in that book, WHOO! Absolutely outstanding!

Oh, that is a good one!

AmBear: Does VA have a book boyfriend crush?
VA: YES! Who do we not have a crush on? *Laughs.* We love Lestat from Ann Rice’s novels and we love Damon Salvatore from “The Vampire Diaries”. Honestly Lestat will just be the greatest vampire of all time to many of us here at VA. However, Damon Salvatore is an amazing character. He is so dynamic and the way he does things, expresses himself and holds true to his vampire nature, along with the longing and loneliness he has is something we think that everyone can connect to. It’s true, when you’re a vampire you’re not human anymore, you’re different and you have certain urges. A few of us here at VA truly believe that if vampires were real and a human became one, their emotions would be felt ten times more than they would have felt them as a human and that is the beauty of it, as well as why we love Damon Salvatore so damn much.<3

Damon is soooo YUMMY! That is the only reason I still even watch that show :) Gotta have my Damon fix!

AmBear: You throw a dinner party for a group of Vampires who feed on something other than blood, what do you serve and what entertainment do you plan?
VA: Well that is a hard one, since blood is the main food source for a vampire, but since blood is off the menu we’d have to serve something that acts as a blood substitute like blood beats or some sort of fruit/vegetable. Either that or we serve up Life energy that belongs to humans, which might be harder to obtain. We’d have to serve something! We can’t just let our guests starve, that would be inhumane *giggles*. The entertainment we would plan would probably be a few instrumental musicians to start off the evening. Very dark and sad, perhaps even goth or Victorian sounding piano songs and violin numbers throughout the night, not all played one after the other of course. We’d also plan some alternative rock music and the genre commonly referred to as Screamo, where people use screams in a musical way, which is professionally called “Distortion Vocals.” This type of music is very popular and an example of a band that makes this sort of music is known as “Pierce The Veil.” Most of the entertainment would be music that is produced by Fearless Records and Rise Records. The other entertainment we might have planned for the evening would most likely be some sort of play, since the creator loves Shakespeare and musicals. Perhaps even a few of our Administrators would love to put on the show for our guests, as long as it is what they want.

Awesome. That's a great answer. Love it.

Switch Up with Book Boyfriend Reviews

Hey there book fans, thanks for joining us for Switch Up. Today we have the awesome and lovely, Book Boyfriend Reviews and this is going to be great! I have some really good, hard Questions for them. Let's see how they do, shall we?

AmBear: What is Book Boyfriends reviews?
BBR: Book boyfriend reviews is a blog where we read and review books. We read paranormal, erotica, comtemporary romance, young adult, new adult.. pretty much anything we want.

Love that! You guys are awesome...If anyone of you haven't stopped by please do. :)

AmBear: Does BBR have a fav hottie they swoon over?
BBR: Asking us this is like asking us to pick a favorite child. It’s just not doable. Last time we tried to pick a favorite, we ended up with our top 20. So..as you can tell. We can’t pick just one. Here, check out our favorites.

These are some handsome hotties...I know a few of these. Swoon worthy indeed!

AmBear: When and why was BBR founded?
BBR: BBR was founded Dec 31 of last year. Can you believe it, we just turned 1! Sandie founded BBR because of her love for books and indie authors.

Awesome, Happy Birthday!

AmBear: What was BBR fav review of 2013?
BBR: Oh god, you’re asking the impossible again. There are so many that we loved. So many awesome books came out this year. We can’t pick just one. The same thing happened with books as did with the book boyfriends, we were able to narrow it down to…20.. lol . We can’t pick just one!

There were ALOT of great "OMG, I can't put this book down" books in 2013.  Based on what I have seen so far, 2014 is going to be no different.

AmBear: Many of us authors travel to many places to meet bloggers, readers and fans, are we going to see BBR at any conventions in 2014?
BBR: We are trying to ALL be at Book Bash in June in Orlando. Trying is the key word. We are from different areas of the country, so you can catch any one of us at some events. Sandie is in CA, so she will be going to events in and around LA. Dee is from OH and she is planning on going to Cleveland, Cincinnati, Louisville, and maybe WV too. Shannon is from GA and she is trying to attend New Orleans in Feb.

That's wonderful. Check your calendars, and come out to these events and meet these awesome ladies.

AmBear: Fans love goodies and giveaways, does BBR have any coming up anytime soon and what is up for grabs?
BBR: We have a multi-blog blogaversary big giveaway coming up. It will have swag, signed paperbacks, and ebooks. All the good stuff!

That's a good giveaway!

AmBear: What was the coolest thing BBR has ever won and received?
BBR: Sandie won the Liebster Award in 2013. That is pretty cool. But really, any time an author or reader says they love our reviews or gives us a shout out in any way it makes us feel really awesome and we love it.

Congrats on the Award, Sandie. I know how you feel, every time I get a message or comment from people, book related or not, It always feels like a win.

AmBear: Who does BBR fangirl over the most and why?
BBR: Oh man.. who don’t we fan girl over? There are so many incredible authors, so we don’t just fangirl over one, we fangirl over them all.

I know right? someone asked me that too and I said the same thing. It is like trying to choose a favorite child.

AmBar: A Lot of books have been turned into movies and Tv shows, is there one you loved?
BBR: Hmmmm…. Hollywood hasn’t really lived up to our expectations with the book to movie adaptations. Of course, we loved the Twilight series, well the later movies…Twilight itself was … umm… yeah. and Hunger Games. Those movies are amazing. Percy Jackson was good.

I hear ya, some are good and some are...'take that back to drawing board, it sux...my favorite has to be The Notebook.

AmBear: Describe BBR using a book title or Describe BBR in 3 words.
BBR: Oh man.. wait that doesn’t count!!! Okay.. ummm….
"REAL."

Yup! That's true. Love you ladies.

Well, that is all the time we have today. I hope you enjoyed watching these ladies squirm under the spotlight. Join us tomorrow for another edition of Switch UP and have a great week.

Whoo Hoo! Today we have my Awesome P.A. Jessica, who I just love and adore. :) I am sure you will too. So, lets turn on the spotlight and get this going, I am excited to introduce her to you.

AmBear: Who is Jessica in three words?
Jessica: Fun. Loving.  Adventurous.

You are quite lovable :)
AmBear: So, are you a blogger, beta reader, reviewer, P.A. Or all of the above?
Jessica: Yes all the above. I have pages also.

Our new generation for reading ---> http://jessica13bridgers.blogspot.com/
Many Authors Little Time FB GRP -- https://www.facebook.com/groups/love4indieauthors/

She also, because she is awesome, helps me run my group
Dreams, Wings and Fangs https://www.facebook.com/groups/379072722184971/ plus she helps me admin my fan page  https://www.facebook.com/AmBearShellea?ref=hl   Not to mention she also has a family! I know, I see her Superwoman cape too :)

AmBear: How did you get into doing blogging/beta reading etc?
Jessica: So many great authors are self-published and they need help from their fans. I am a fan, so it is a way to tell the amazing indie-authors, Thank You. For letting me be apart of their dreams.

Let me tell you, we, authors love you right back. If any of you are not friends with Jessica, you should be. She is so sweet.

AmBear: What book/series would you like to see put on the big screen or in a TV show?
Jessica: Gosh, I don’t know! There are so many I would like to see on the big screen, but the one that comes to mind first is Species Intervention #6609 by J.K. Accinni. Just because her scenes in the book are so descriptive I would love to see them in action.

I will have to check that one out. Sounds interesting.
AmBear: Do you have a favorite book boyfriend? What makes him stand out above the rest?
Jessica: I have 800 some odd authors on my page and you want me to pick “A” meaning one book boyfriend! Well, if I have to pick I would say, Sebastian in “The RockNRoll Paraphantasy series by AmBear Shellea. I choose him because he is a Vampire for one. He’s so mysterious and cocky. Sebastian is so smooth and smart. He’s the glue that holds everyone, everything together. Without his character, the other characters would be lost.

Oh, Sebastian! I must admit, he is my fav too. Sexy sweet and a huge smartass. :)

AmBear: When your not being an Awesome PA, what can you be found doing?
Jessica: Thank you! It depends on the seasons: Spring I would be outside planting flowers and yard work. Summer Again outside suntanning and reading or solving a crossword puzzle. . Fall/Winter I’m trying to keep the pounds off with Wii games that get your heart pumping. It’s something to do with the kids.

Damn, I'm coming to your house. WOW! Sounds like the happenin place. :)

AmBear: I know you share my love for cats, do you have one? Tell us a bot about it.
Jessica: Yes I have cat. Cats have always been my favorite. We adopted him, Orange Domestic Shorthair Tabby, from SPCA through PetSmart. They named him Orange Crush. He was already about 5/6 months. He choose my husband  who is not fond of cats. Of course the cat won his heart. We renamed him Kie-Kie. It was easier to call him. He is great with our family.

Aww, what a cutie.

AmBear: What genre is stocked on your shelf the most?
Jessica: Believe it or not I have more Contemporary/YA/Romance than any other Genre.

It's a big Genre, lots of people read it.

AmBear: If you could go to any world you have read, where would it be?
Jessica: In the Red Room! Hehe ;) Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L.James

LMAO! I think there is a long line for that 'room' :)
AmBear: What book/books coming in 2014 is on your most wanted list?
Jessica: I can hardly wait for: Satyr’s Curse II by Alexandrea Weis, Teamwork (Wunder #3) by A.R.Von, Skyler Tower by Khelsey Jackson. There are so many more, but this is from the top of my head. Oh! I can’t forget the next book in the “RockNRoll Paraphantasy series” by AmBear Shellea

Yes, Book 4 is on its way soon! However I think you will see my current short before that one.

Alright Switchers that is all the time we have for today. I hope you enjoyed our time with Jessica, I know I did.  Have a great day and an awesome week. We shall see you back here tomorrow for another edition of Switch Up!

Switch Up with Lady AmBer's Reviews and Tours

Welcome Switchers! Got the AmBear/Ambers in the house!! Today we are here with my good friend and just plain Awesomeness, Lady Amber, from Lady Amber's Reviews and Tours. If you haven't connected with her before, do so now! You will not regret it. :) So, Let's get to the good stuff.

AmBear: What does Lady Amber's Reviews/Tours do exactly and how long have you been doing it?

Amber: I have been blogging and doing reviews for about 2 years and in 2013 I branched out and started to host release & promo parties to help authors get more recognition for them as an author and their books. I have even started a tour company as well and recruit bloggers to review and promote authors on their blogs.
https://www.facebook.com/#!/ambersupernaturalandya?fref=ts

AmBear:Name the biggest reason you got into Review/tours.
Amber: I love to read, it is and always has been my escape.

AmBear: Does Lady Amber help many authors?
Amber: I like to believe so. I try to help everyone who asks. I may not always be able to do a review but I try to do some type of promo or share links when I can. I have and am a PA for several authors and try my best to make sure everyone gets the recognition they deserve.

AmBear: So, I hear that you have some badass bloggers, what is the one thing you look for should any bloggers who read this want to join you.
Amber:  I do!! They are all amazing but the biggest thing that I look for is Dedication! I want bloggers who sign up for a tour and be able to post on time.

AmBear: What makes Lady Amber so different from other tour/review groups?
Amber:  I like to think the biggest difference is that I know most of my bloggers and talk to them on a daily basis. I hate it when I tour for another company and I feel like I’m working with strangers or if I send them a message it either takes forever to hear back or you don’t hear anything at all. I look at my bloggers as my friends, I love them all and have come to know and care for each one of them. I like to believe I have one of the most amazing tour groups out there not because of me but because of those who blog for me. They are just phenomenal.

AmBear: Does Lady Amber have any other noteworthy ventures going on?
Amber: Yes!!! Lady Amber has now teamed up with a few other authors, Emma Michaels, Amy Lignor and Tanya Contois. We have started a publishing company called Hallowed Ink Press. I am so excited about this because the ladies that I am working with on this are amazing and I think we are going to go far. We have had so many amazing authors who have submitted or inquired already.
  https://www.facebook.com/#!/hallowedinkpress

AmBear: So when Lady Amber is “off the clock” what does she like to do?
Amber: I’m pretty boring but I have to say reading and spending time with my family. I have two girls who are just full of life and are always making me laugh and smile. I love them with all my heart and just don’t know what I would do without them, even if they think I’m a bit of a nerd lol

AmBear: Does Lady Amber have a favorite Author or Genre?
Amber: My favorite genre here lately has been New Adult but I read just about anything that catches my attention.

AmBear: What books can be found on Lady Amber's bookshelf?
Amber: OMG I have too many to name but rest assured yours are on it and looking might pretty if I might say so myself. My faves though are prolly the signed copies of Divergent and Insurgent!

 Aww, how sweet. :)

AmBear: Lady Amber's Reviews/Tours had a pretty successful 2013, what is in the works for 2014?
Amber: 2013 was amazing! Not sure if I can top that but I’m sure’s heck gonna try! I did a few blog hops and I would love to do more of those and other community involvement events this year. I have teamed up with Release Day Diva a few times and did a couple of different things and I think we can see more of that in the future. I admire the different events they do at YATR and would love to be able to implement some of them. Anything to help promote authors and bloggers. I am also hoping to release my book this year as well, but I have been keeping that on the down low. Only a few really know what it’s about or have read pieces of it. I’m really scared and excited for everyone to read it.

AmBear: That's it for switch Up today. Thank you Amber for stopping by. I love having you here.
Amber: Thank you AmBear Shellea for interviewing me as always you are awesome and it’s been fun hanging with you!
AmBear: Back atcha chicka! Awesomesauce!

AmBear: Let's, start by telling us a little about you.
Colleen:  I am married, have been for 13 years we've been together for 25. I have 3 teenagers 14-19. I work in respite care.

AmBear: Thats a cool job. It's is always nice to see kind people doing just heart giving work. I am sure the ones you take care of are very thankful.
AmBear: Do you blog, beta read, review, a street team member?
Colleen:  I have a blog http://pamaceeve.wordpress.com/    I have a facebook page Colleen's books and review blog  https://www.facebook.com/colleeneverly71   I do reviews.  I tend to keep them short but I do state my opinion . I am on 18 street teams.

AmBear: Whew, you are quite the busy woman. One of the street teams she is on is mine and let me tell you, she is awesome. :)

AmBear: Next question. What is the one thing you like the most about blogging, reviewing, beta reading, being on a street team?
Colleen: The thing I like most about blogging reviewing and street teaming is all the people I get to meet and talk to virtually (of course.)

AmBear; Same here. I love meeting new people. I swear I have talked more about books I have read since I have become an author than I did when I just read. :)  It's awesome. I love to hear what people get out the same book. sometimes it's not always the same thing, that's when the convo gets interesting.

AmBear: Do you have an all time favorite Author?
Colleen: I have many favorite authors, too many to list.

AmBear: I think we can all relate to that. :)

AmBear: If you were given the opportunity to meet one author, who would it be and what would be the one question you would ask them?
Colleen: I don't know if I'd want to meet any of my favorite authors I would probably go all fan girl on them and freak them out. LOL.

AmBear; I know right? I am sure if I ever got to the chance to meet Terry Goodkind, I would totally make an idiot out of myself. :)

AmBear: Do you have a favorite Genre?
Colleen: My favorite genre is paranormal romance / erotica

AmBear: No wonder you like my street team, I write just up your alley.  Now who's fangirling?  :) Oh yea, a nice little tidbit about Collen, she was "fanged by Sebastian" and she liked it. :)

AmBear:  What do you love most about reading?
Colleen: What I love most about reading is all the places I get to read about.

Always a new place to explore when you open a book.

AmBear: When you are having Colleen time, where can you be found and what will you be doing?
Colleen: I can be found on my sofa with a glass of wine and a book.

Oh, sounds relaxing.

AmBear: Say you could escape anywhere, real or fictional, where would you go?
Colleen:  I have always wanted to go to Scotland and/or Ireland I would love to see the castles.

Same here! I am still waiting on my ticket for 9 3/4 so I can check out Hogwarts :)

AmBear: What genre is stocked the most on your bookshelf and in your Kindle/Nook/Reader?
Colleen:  The genre that takes up my bookshelves and kindle is paranormal romances.

Well, that is all the time we have for today. Thank you Colleen for joining me, I have had a great time talking to you, as always. Please be sure to check out her links she provided you...You never know, you just might find what you have been looking for :)

As I always say, Have an awesome day and a great week!

Switch Up with A Book Whore's Obsession

Hey Switch Uppers! Today we have quite the treat for you. In the spotlight, we have Kari and Cara form the Book Whore's Obsession FB Page. I think they are lovely and I think you will too. Whoo Hoo! Let's get this goin'!

AmBear: Tell us What a Book Whore's Obsession does and how it works.
Kari: A Book Whores Obsession is a Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/messages/100004054806643#!/AbkwhrsO ~

and a blog page ~ http://bookwhores.weebly.com/  that work hand-in-hand. We give readers glimpses of book boyfriends on our Facebook page and then a more in-depth look at them on our blog page. Our focus through it all is the ‘book boyfriend’ aspect of the book world!
Cara: Our Facebook page posts links to books, sales, giveaways, author pages and more. We love fan interaction, so we have “Questions of the Day”, post polls frequently, and play games.
Our blog page participates in blog tours and cover reveals and, of course, we post our book boyfriend reviews there. One cool feature of our blog is that you can search our reviews by ‘book boyfriend quality’. Let’s say that you are looking for new book to read about a hot businessman. Go to our blog, scroll to the bottom, and click on “businessman”. You will get a list of all of the businessmen we have reviewed with links to the actual review, so you can see what we had to say! It’s like having a best friend with tons of book knowledge right there, helping you pick out a new book boyfriend!

Oh, sounds kickass! That's a pretty in depth set up. I, for one, will be checking that out!

AmBear: What can authors, readers and fans be sure to find when visiting your page?
Kari: You can find so much on our page! Our Facebook page has a plethora of information beneath our banner! There are links to book release dates, our cafepress store (tons of great book whore loot there, ladies! http://www.cafepress.com/abookwhoresobsession  , our Amazon store (where we filtered Amazon’s million book links to show only our favorites for you!), as well as our photo albums. You should definitely check those out – it’s like ‘window shopping for your next book boyfriend’. We have done a million quote pics in the last 10 months and have saved them by book. So if you hear about a new book, head over to our Facebook page. Go to our photo albums, find the book, and then get a visual on the book boyfriend and see if it is something that literally LOOKS good. ;)

Lovin' these shirts on your Cafepress page! Awesome. "Book Whore" on pink glow? I think so, yes!

AmBearDo you host contests and giveaways full of goodies?
Kari: We are always giving away something – ebooks, bookmarks, and loot from author signings! We try to make it super simple to enter our contests!

There ya go, readers, another place to enter and win!

AmBear: What made you decide to start your page?
Cara Kari & I met on a book page at the end of 2011. We always liked the same things and found ourselves commenting on the same threads and ended up ‘friending’ each other. We share a passion for Cam Gigandet as Travis Maddox – that is what actually brought us together!
Kari sent me a message one day and was like, ‘Hey! Let’s start a page for Cam as Travis!’. So we did. Then we noticed that there wasn’t a blog page that really focused on the book boyfriend aspect of the book world and, as they say, A Book Whores Obsession was born on March 6, 2012. It has been a wild and fun year for us and we can’t wait to head into the next one!

That's great! I love discussing book boyfriends with my bestie too!

AmBear: What is your favorite part about running such a successful page?
Kari: First of all, thank you for saying it is successful! Numbers do not necessarily translate into success – it is the perception by the ladies on it and the ‘feel’ of it that determines success. So it makes us smile that you think it qualifies!   Our favorite part is the camaraderie of the ladies on our page. They really are the best! We are proud that our page is a positive, drama-free, friendly place to be – and that’s because of the people on it! They interact with each other, play our silly games, vote in our polls, and help each other find a book.
AmBear: I have to say, I love the Drama-free aspect of your page too. Everyone is excited about the books but they all act like adults. It is so refreshing.
Cara: When I log on and see someone has posted ‘I read this book once about a girl and a guy in college’ and 60 people have responded in 20 minutes saying, ‘is it this one?’ – those are my favorite moments. Annnnd when people send me pics of Cam Gigandet or Dan Conn because they know I love them! I have a penchant for those moments, too! ;) )

See, these ladies are awesome.

AmBear: Does your page have a favorite page you visit often?
Kari: Do we have favorite pages? Of course! We support lots of other blogs and we stalk author pages religiously! ;) SchmexyGirls, The Book Vamps, and Book Addict Mumma are just a couple pages that we follow! There are so many great ones out there, though – we have so many that we love!
AmBear: I love those pages too.  :)

AmBear: What genre is loved the most by your page?
Kari: Contemporary romance is probably the favorite sub-genre of our page. However, we are noticing an upswing in the popularity and support of the romantic comedy books. Authors like Tara Sivec, Alice Clayton, and newbie Zack Love are really getting a lot of chatter on our page – we are getting lots of messages about these type of books and things like, “I just finished Seduction & Snacks by Tara Sivec – what do I read NOW!?”. There’s also a rise in interest in books from the male POV. Of course, as many love them as hate them, so it really is a fine line.
AmBear; I don't think I have read any of these authors. I will have to check them out. Cara, how about you?
Cara: Personally, I  think it totally depends on the author and the character. I’ve seen them done amazingly well, then I’ve seen them done where more harm was done than good. Writing a great male POV just can’t honestly be done by everyone. *shrugs*

That's true.

AmBear:  Book whores love to read many different things, what is your pages most loved type of read?
Kari:  What is our page’s favorite type of read? Let’s see….. The bad boy businessmen and the fighters seem to hold a special place in the hearts of our page. LOL
Cara: It’s the whole ‘flawed bad boy’ thing, I think. It is the Travis Maddox, Colton Donavan, Gavin Blake and Jesse Ward type of guys that make our fans crazy. And us, too. (Hush, Kari!) I’m sorry, Kari is reminding me that I forgot Kellan Kyle. *rolls eyes* LOL
AmBear: Anyone else some to mind?
Kari: Oh! And Christian Grey. Doesn’t it always go back to him? He really is the ‘book boyfriend measuring stick’. Cara: I  read somewhere once, “On a scale of 1 – Christian Grey, how good was he?” and I think that is absolutely true! LOL
AmBear; Yes, I have noticed that too... The Christian Scale. :)

AmBear: If the Book Whore's Obsession could meet any author, who would it be and why?
Kari: You want us to pick ONE author?! Are you crazy?
AmBear: Yes, but inquiting minds want to know.... :)  I was asked this same question. It is nerve racking but at the same time, I am always amazed by the answers. I have found new authors by asking this question. So...
Cara: I feel so ‘on the spot’! LOL I don’t know, really – and I’m not just saying that! K Bromberg would be incredible to meet! Colton Donavan & Beckett Daniels (my book husband!) are two of my favorites and her Driven Group is just phenomenal! She is so involved with her fans, so I feel like I kinda know her. In my little fantasy world, it would be like meeting an old friend when, it reality, I’ve never met her! LOL So that may or may not work out. ;) I also adore Lauren Blakely – like ADORE! I would love to meet her. I imagine her just like McKenna in Trophy Husband, so I’d love to see if that is true. Oh! And Jodi Ellen Malpas – the lady that created The Lord of the Manor. When she confirmed our “Sunday Sitdown”, I flailed like a muppet. I was going crazy! So maybe I shouldn’t meet her, now that I think about it. That could be embarrassing…..
Kari : I would love to meet the authors of my favorite book boyfriends! SC Stephens would be first, since Kellan Kyle is my all-time favorite! Did you all read the Thoughtless Trilogy!? I mean – WOW! J. Sterling is one of my favorite authors and not just because she wrote Jack F’n Carter. She is funny, smart, witty, and seems like a genuinely “real” person, so she makes the list for a few reasons! J Raine Miller, Colleen Hoover, M. Leighton – I’d die if I got to meet any of them!

OKay, readers, i think it is obvious we all need to check out this Kellan Kyle. He seems like pretty hot stuff!

AmBear: What can we expect to see from Book Whore's Obsession in 2014?
Kari:  We have tons of fun things planned for the coming year! You will see the same things that we’ve done this past year, including our Thursday “Meet the Author” events and our Sunday Sitdowns
(starting at 8pm EST). We’ve just posted the Sunday line-up and can we just say that we are soooo excited and totally fan girled!
AmBear: Fan girled? Oh, we need to check this out. If it is fangirl worthy then it needs checking into.
Kari: We are expanding our blog tour packages (check out the blog for pricing and information) and really trying to help put together things that help authors get their books out there to readers and helps readers hear about the new books. In today’s world, so many books come out each day. We love highlighting the books and authors we love.
Cara: Kari has created K23 Design and she has been rocking out these book covers and custom quote pics for authors, too! Her Facebook page is amazing. That is definitely something you’ll be seeing more of in 2014!
Oh! We’ve just started a book club! We let our fans vote on the book and they selected “All The Pretty Lies” by M. Leighton. You have until the end of January to read it and then the author will be dropping by our page (and a time and date to be determined) to discuss the book with everyone! We are very excited about this new feature and can’t wait to explore new books along with our fans this year!

Oh, thats sound like a lot of fun.

Cara: We have some things up our sleeves, too – we can’t spill all the secrets in one interview though. There are some amazing things that will be debuting soon! (Kari won’t let me tell you everything. I am awful about keeping secrets! (whispers to Kari ) ‘Can I bring up that ONE thing?’ (Kari nods and gets all embarrassed)
And Kari is writing a book, Promise Me Always, that is coming out in February! Yay! *claps* Y’all are gonna love Blake! Like L-O-V-E! Go check her out (she just might have the entire first chapter on her FB page, but you didn’t hear that from me!) – www.facebook.com/karimarchauthor.

Another page to check out and like. These ladies are full of surprises. :)

Kari: We just want to thank you for having us over! It is kinda strange having the tables turned on us, we won’t lie! LOL
AmBear; Aww, thank you ladies. I have had a wonderful time having you here. I knew it would be a great time.
Cara: Seriously, thank you for thinking of us and thank you to everyone that has supported us through this year! We never, ever, ever expected to reach 2,000 – let alone 14,000 LIKES in less than a year! It amazes us that people actually want to hear our opinion on anything! LOL We understand that there are hundreds of book blogs out there, so we truly appreciate each and every LIKE that we get.
*hugs all around*

Ok, readers if you haven't yet, please stop by and give these ladies FB page a like and if you can become a follower of thier blog. They are pretty awesome, as you can see and a whole lotta fun.
be sure to stop by tomorrow for more Switch up Fun! :)

Switch Up Tour with Jeanette Joyal

Hey Lovelies, welcome to the Switch Up Tour. Here we are doing things a bit different. You have blog hopped and read, commented and been part of Author Interviews, you know how it goes: Bloggers grill the authors and ask the questions the readers want to know. Well, the Switch Up Tour, is bass ackwards. I, the Author am putting the bloggers, beta readers, page admins, street team members and reviewers in the hotseat. I have met some very awesome people since starting my author journey and because I love them so much, I want YOU to meet some of these ladies of Coolness! I am sure that by the end of January, you will have found some new friends, just as I have done these past two years. Now, tossing the spotlight onto the wonderful awesome pimp queen and just plain kick ass friend, Jeanette Joyal whom I love to pieces! :)
Okay, I'm done for the moment with the mushy stuff, onto the interview...
AmBear: Tell us a little about Jeanette and what makes her tick.
Jeanette: Well I was born in Brooklyn NY, yep a NYC Girl. I then grew up in Upstate NY, not far from the Canadian Border. I met and married a wonderful Man then Moved to North Carolina where we raised five beautiful children together. Now we are blessed with six precious Granddaughters which four of them I watch one a daily bases so their parents can work.
That's awesome. :)
AmBear: So, let us know who you are; A blogger, a beta reader, reviewer, tour host, reviewer, page admin or all of the above?
Jeanette:I am a beta reader and a reviewer and a PA. Each is fulfilling and a joy. It is such an honor in itself for an Author to entrust you with their work and value your opinion but to get work with the Author’s on a personal level, well that is an experience like no other.
Well, you are pretty awesome...and busy it looks like.
AmBear: Do you have a regular group/author you beta read/blog/review for?
Jeanette: Yes I do, CHBB Publications. I really love all the folks there from the moment I first met them, back when I first joined their street teams. They were all kind, loving and warm and such an incredible family, yes I do mean family. They all have become an important part of my life from the owner SJ Davis, who is an incredible Woman that has a heart of gold and never cease to amaze me. There is also JacquieTalento who is the hardest working lady I know and always is there for anyone day or night with her words of wisdom and loving nature, I cherish her friendship and hold her dear to my heart. All the Authors have such talent, passion and love not only writing but for the fans. I can’t get over how each and every one of them is always helping each other with whatever needs to be done. However, the thing that really touches my heart is their generosity which has no limits nor does the compassion in their hearts. Last but not least is the street team members, they are amazing!! Each and every one of them is always on board sharing all the wonderful books so other can enjoy them as much as they do. These qualities that make them a unique team. I truly feel blessed to be a part of this elite Publishing house.
#onehouseunited indeed ;)
AmBear: If you could meet any author who would it be and why ?
Jeanette: LOL!! Well, there is so many, but one does stand out. Karen Marie Moning. I think she is an incredible Author who has such a way with words. Her story telling style is what set her aside from a lot of Authors. The Fever series is actually my Favorite of hers. I love her unique take on the Fae. It isn’t all fairy tale and butterfly happy ending stuff. It is raw you know. Not to mention where it all takes place Ireland!! Needless to say, it is one place I want to go!! The Characters are a trip!! Each with personalities you either love or hate. I love that in a book!! Now with that being said there is many I would love to meet like yourself, Rue Volley, Julieanne Lynch , Cameo Renae, Pyxi Rose, Piper Kay, Skye Kinzley , Faith Marlow, Kim Carmichael, Chelle, and many more!
Aww, I can't wait to meet you either. Big pounce hugs when that happens. As for the wonderful ladies you mentioned, they are on my list too.
AmBear: How did you get into blogging/beta reading/reviewing?
Jeanette: Well I was doing some reviews for some wonderful Authors, such as Tressa Messenger, Cindy Smith and others as well when I had joined a group ran by Crystal Rister that offered their books for honest reviews. I loved it!! Well needless to say I meet some wonderful friends there who were so kind and I took to them right off the bat. Especially my dear friend Cindy who always invited me to events and introduced me to so many Authors!! After a while during an invite I was invited to join my first street team, which was Hot Ink Press!! I was thrilled!! So... this is when I began to do beta reading!! Me!! It was such an honor!! I have to say I still get a rush whenever I am asked to do one. Eventually I was asked to do PA work for Authors and absolutely loved it!! I really believe this is when I found my true passion!!
Yes, gotta love sum Hot Ink Press! ;)
AmBear: What is your favorite genre to read?
Jeanette: That would have to Paranormal/ Fantasy
Me too. Magic and Paranormal...Oh, how I love thee.
AmBear: If your life as a blogger/beta reader etc. was a book, what genre would you be found under?
Jeanette: Well that depends because I do reviews in a wide range of Genre, ranging from Paranormal, Fantasy, YA to Erotica.
Sooo, a magic using teenager who grows up to be a naughty vampire, maybe? Hmm...There may be a book storyline there somewhere :) We might need to hash this out after this interview :)
AmBear: What is your favorite thing about being Blogger/Beta Reader/reviewer etc?
Jeanette: First I love the fact of being chosen to review the hard work that an Author has put in and know the value your opinion and thoughts . It is such a privilege and it is always such a thrill!! Now the PA work is amazing!! Especially when you know you are helping getting all these wonderful books out there for others to enjoy!! There is no better feeling then the enjoyment I get from it!!!
I have to say, I totally value your opinion and always look forward to your reviews of my work. <3
AmBear: Of all the characters you have discovered in the many worlds you have visited through the pages of books, if you could be any one of those who would it be?
Jeanette: Okay, I loved the Harry Potter series!! I have been fascinated with the whole world that this Author created. From the corky little shops found on Diagon Alley and the magical school of Hogwarts, to the many colorful characters whether they be heroes or villains. Needless to say everyone has their favorite character right? Well mine is Mrs. Weasely. I could see myself as her, taking care of all those children while running about taking care of all those pesky chores with the flick of my wand!! Not to mention the neat knitting trick!! I would love to live in that world.
I think we are all with ya on that one. Who isn't waiting on their ticket to Hogwarts :)
AmBear: Where can you found when you are having “Jeanette” time?
Jeanette: I watch my Grandchildren during the day so that takes up a lot of time but I do find time to do my knitting which I really enjoy. I make all sorts of things for the family such as, socks, fingerless gloves, hats, Christmas stockings and even bookmarkers. I also enjoy sewing and make tote bags. The kids love it!! Lol I enjoy being creative and coming up with new idea. Of course there is my books which a just love!! So as you can see my life is quite but comfortable I have a wonderful Husband and family who could ask for more. I am truly blessed.
Sounds like it. Blessed indeed, perhaps that's why you are such a wonderful person. Thank you so much Jeanette for coming by today. I always love visiting with you. You truly are a joy.
Join us tomorrow for another edition of Switch Up.
